Dyskusja o masztach RDM 520 i 550 cm

Po opublikowaniu informacji o tym, że firma The Loft wypuszcza na rynek maszty RDM (maszty o małej średnicy a grubej ściance) o długościach 520 i 550 cm (czyli do żagli w przedziale 9.0-12.0 m2) otrzymaliśmy szereg zapytań o ich "performance" w stosunku do masztów tradycyjnych (grubych, o ciękich ściankach).
Poprosiliśmy więc Monty Spindler'a (szefa i projektanta żagli The Loft) o kilka słów komentarza:

"We have completed limited tests of the rdm 520 & 550 only. In my view the low end is improved, the handling in all conditions improved. Rotation is magic, rigging much easier. No cranks needed to downhaul.
What is important is that the rdm 520 and 550 masts measure in! (w procesie produkcji utrzymują zadaną specyfikację) With correct flex masts all sails work better. Long sdms are the most critical mast to get right, and they are the most difficult to get right.
Antoine Questel will visit us at the end of this month, his work with Fernando and Andy on the water should provide definitive performance results.
Yes it may have been premature to announce before definitive tests... with the accuracy of flex compared to sdms and the way the Blade FRs look on these masts I believe there is very little if any risk.
I suspect all brands will go in our direction for the reasons stated above."

Zakończyliśmy pierwszą fazę testów masztow RDM 520 i 550 cm.
Moim zdaniem: dolny zakres - poprawiony, prowadzenie żagla w kazdych warunkach - poprawione Rotacja kamberów - magiczna! Taklowanie zagla super łatwe. Nie ma potrzeby uzycia wyciagarek!..
Na szczególną uwagę zasluguje fakt, ze RDMy 520 i 550 duzo bardziej trzmaj się wymaganych parametrów (IMCS, flex, curve), niż maszty SDM.
Podejrzewam, że z czasem wsystkie firmy będą nas naśladować...
